 采用生态技术对河道湖泊进行水质恢复是一种经济有效的生态途径,目前在国内经济发达地区己经被广泛应用。河道中的岛屿是许多水生生物的主要栖息场所,在岛屿上形成了“植物-微生物-动物”共生体,对水体的净化起着非常重要的作用。岛上植物可供鸟类等休息和筑巢,下部植物根系形成鱼类和水生昆虫等栖息环境,同时能吸收引起富营养化的氨和磷,形成稳定的净化系统。


       城镇河道、湖泊由于空间和水位变化的限制,湿地技术的应用受到很大的影响。而人工生物浮岛作为一项新兴技术,不受水位变化的影响,维护管理方便。
       生物浮岛因具有净化水质、创造生物的生息空间、改善景观、消波等综合性功能,在水位波动大的水库或因波浪的原因,难以恢复岸边水生植物带的湖沼或是在有景观要求的湖泊、河道等封闭性水域得到广泛的应用。

      生态浮岛/浮床的载体要求

目前,国内浮岛建设上形式各样。主要区别大都在浮岛载体上,良好的耐用的浮岛需要满足以下条件:
      1. 结构具有足够的稳定性,防止被风浪吹走或是单元之间的碰撞;
      2. 经久耐用,需要抗老化、无污染,耐腐蚀;
      3. 经济性,达到设计效果的同时减少投资成本;
      4. 可扩展,便于运输易于拼接,可自由组合。

      生态浮岛/浮岛的工程应用

通过结构优化大大降低了制造成本,最为突出的是宏成生态浮岛/浮床的应用范围进一步扩大,可将生态浮岛建在污水池中。其他生态浮岛要求水体污染物含量不能太高,否则会因为水体缺氧而使植物根部腐烂而失去水净化的作用。宏成生态浮岛/浮床适用于河道、湖泊水质的生态恢复,公园、别墅、展区等景观水域的水上绿化。
